Michelle Wright has been drawing rave reviews for her expressive voice and her distinctive style since her 1988 debut CD Do Right By Me on Savannah Records. Over the ensuing years, she has released monumentally successful albums in the United States and Canada and enjoys an international career, one that has seen her grace concert stages across North America, Europe, Africa, South America, Australia and Asia. Michelle has amassed a total of twenty‐five Top Ten radio hits in her homeland of Canada and
walked to podiums in music centers like Los Angeles and Toronto to accept more than forty major awards. She is the first Canadian‐born artist in the modern era of country music to have a Top Ten hit in America (“Take It Like A Man”, 1992) and a Number One video on CMT‐USA (“Take It Like A Man”, 1992), and to win a major U.S. music industry award (Academy of Country Music Top New Female Artist, 1993). In September 2011, Michelle was honored with induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. The unquestionable highlight of 2013 for Michelle was the release of her latest album, Strong. Capturing better than ever her distinctive style and expressive voice, Strong showcases Michelle’s remarkable growth as a singer and songwriter ‐ inspired by the perseverance and strength that she has witnessed in friends, family and strangers over the years.

Grammy© nominated artist Tom Wurth has four albums to his credit that have garnered three Top 30 singles including, “Bread on the Table,” “Good Ground,” and “If The Road Runs Out.” On each album he has chosen songs that speak to his desire to deliver sustainable and real music to his fans. He pulls his sound from country, soul, gospel and R&B taking his audience to their own unique musical destination. Wurth’s latest album, A Different Soul, his fourth studio album, was co-produced by one of Nashville’s top sound engineers, T. W. Cargile, and Tony Coleman (B.B. King’s drummer for 30 years and currently on tour with Jamey Johnson.) The project features “Where I Belong” a Wurth co-write with Vince Gill. Gill also sat in on vocals and played guitar for the album. T. Graham Brown and Wurth joined forces in a soulful number for the project and John Ford Coley teamed up with him on two songs on this project.

Wright and Wurth’s diverse backgrounds also show striking similarities in their roots. Michelle hails from a small Canadian farming community near Chatham, Ontario while Wurth is from the northwest Iowa farming community of Marcus. She was raised with country music as her parents were performers and Tom’s parents (his father plays guitar, his mother piano and both sing) started him early with country standards and classics. Wright grew up 45 minutes from Detroit and infused R&B and Motown into her sound while Wurth has always been drawn to soulful sounds and the blues, recently playing with awarded blues players at B. B. King’s Nashville creating his own unique
sound of country and blues. Together Wright and Wurth have also collaborated on songwriting and with this event will share the same stage for the first time.
