The Fire Station in Eldon houses three separate entities. First, the Eldon Volunteer Fire Department. This entity is funded by the City of Eldon through tax dollars. They own the building, the City Fire Pumper (401) and various other equipment. Second, Washington Township Fire Department. This entity is funded by Washington Township and is funded by tax dollars. They own The Washington Township Pumper (402) and The Washington Township Tanker (406) and various other equipment. Lastly, Eldon Fire & Rescue Inc. This is a non-profit entity ran by the members of the department and funded solely by donations, fund raisers and grants. This entity owns The Ambulance (90-81), The Brush Truck (408), the old six-wheeler (411) and the new six-wheeler (412), the JAWs of Life, The Water Rescue equipment and various other equipment. The members of these departments belong to all of them. No one is just a member of one of them. Members are not paid. This is a volunteer department.
